Barbeque Integrated Inc. is owned by and under the umbrella of Sun Capital Partners, Smokey Bones is headquartered in Orlando, Florida. Smokey Bones is the first restaurant opened in Orlando in 1999 under the then owner, Darden Restaurants, Inc. Since buying Smokey Bones, Sun Capital Partners has been working on re-branding and redesign of the restaurant to make it more interesting new customers. In a real change, the name was revised from Smokey Bones Barbeque and Grill to Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill.
In September 2008, Smokey Bones restaurant complete makeover in the company's first location in Waterford Lakes Orlando, Florida. Log cabin decor has been replaced with a more contemporary restaurant setting. Highlights include an extended bar area, high-definition televisions throughout the restaurant / bar and updated employee uniforms. A new menu has also been implemented, less emphasis on the barbeque and more on fuel and smoke flavors.
